Kimmel, fresh off of an episode of his own program this week in which he dressed up as a faux Leno, appeared on “The Jay Leno Show’s” feloniously tedious “10@10″ segment, in which celebrities are asked ten softball questions and they reply with ten Wiffle Ball answers.

Leno asked Kimmel if there was anyone he wanted to interview.

“You and Conan together,” Kimmel replied.

“He was sorta being increasingly bitchy throughout — he compared Leno’s relationship to Conan to a stripper’s relationship with a john,” says our source. “He accused Jay of trying to trick him to host The Tonight Show just so Leno can take it back from him: ‘Listen Lucy, I’m not Charlie Brown, I don’t fall for that trick.’”

Still, says our source, Kimmel got really brutal on Conan’s usurper at the very end of the segment.

Mark McGwire acknowledged it was “time for me to talk about the past” and admit he used steroids during his playing career in a statement from the former slugger released today by the St. Louis Cardinals.

“I used steroids during my playing career and I apologize,” McGwire said in a statement released by his former team, the St. Louis Cardinals, to U.S. media outlets.

“I remember trying steroids very briefly in the 1989-1990 off season and then after I was injured in 1993, I used steroids again," he confessed. "I used them on occasion throughout the '90s, including during the 1998 season."

The reason McGwire acknowledge the use in a statement today, he said in the release, was because of imminent return to the game as the Cardinals hitting coach.

Manager Tony La Russa announced in November that McGwire would be joining the coaching staff. Promises by the organization then to make McGwire available “sooner rather than later” did not manifest as attempts to put McGwire before the media were unsuccessful, due to scheduling or other reasons. In the release, he says his return to baseball is a reason for him to “come clean” on subjects he couldn’t five years ago in front of Congress.

He officially claims a place among the great, tainted players of the past 10 years, including that dick Bonds, Sammy Sosa, Roger Clemens and Alex Rodriguez.

Sportscaster, Rory Markas died yesterday at age 54.

The team’s spokesperson Tim Mead says the longtime Angels announcer was found dead at his home in Palmdale, California on Monday. Markas’ cause of death has not yet been released. Tim Mead said, “Markas had surgery for a blood clot on his brain in late 2008.”

Markas made the famous call in 2002 at the Worlds Series when Darin Erstad caught a fly ball, winning the game. “Erstad says he’s got it! Erstad makes the catch! The Anaheim Angels are the champions of baseball!” he said.

He also did broadcasts for the Milwaukee Brewers,Los Angeles Clippers,University of Southern California men’s basketball,and Pacific Coast League baseball. He also did some sports reporting for KNX Radio,and was a sports anchor for KTTV.
