First Jon and Kate. Now Jermaine and Janet.

Music impressario and Atlanta native Jermaine Dupri and singer Janet Jackson are reportedly splitting.

According to the National Enquirer the duo has been fighting because of the way Dupri has been managing her career.

Jackson and Dupri, who have been together for four years and were reportedly pondering marriage, began battling over her recent tour — managed by Dupri — which was a dismal failure, with a string of canceled concerts due to poor ticket sales.

“Janet and Jermaine finally hit a wall,” the source was quoted as saying. “They were fighting over his management of her career. In the end, she decided to make a break.”


After the highly publicized incident at the 2004 Superbowl Halftime Show, the 43-year-old entertainer has had three albums, none of which proved the success of previous projects.Just this past year Jackson canceled several U.S. tour dates citing a case of Vertigo, then canceled dates again, this time saying the state of the economy was to blame.

Jackson’s career has been in rapid decline since her debacle at the 2004 Super Bowl, where she exposed her breast during the halftime show.

Reports of the breakup come on the heels of the announcement Jackson will again join the cast for the Tyler Perry motion picture tentatively titled “Why Did I Get Married Too?”, the sequel to the 2007 movie “Why Did I Get Married.”
