Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead today, June 25 after paramedics found him in a coma at his Bel-Air mansion, city and law enforcement sources told The Times. He was 50.

Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Steve Ruda told The Times that paramedics responded to a 911 call from the home. When they arrived, Jackson was not breathing.

According to TMZ, Michael suffered a cardiac arrest on Thursday afternoon at his Holmby Hills home. One of his staff members reportedly called 911, but when paramedics arrived the singer was already dead. "When paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back," the site wrote.

Michael was quickly rushed to U.C.L.A. Medical Center, a six-minute drive from the rented mansion in which he was living. Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive. Michael's sister, La Toya Jackson, reportedly was seen in the hospital and sobbing after he was pronounced dead.

Father of Michael Jackson (Joe Jackson) said he had been alerted to the emergency but didn’t have details:

“I am in Las Vegas but yes people in Los Angeles called me and are with Michael and tell me he was taken to the hospital,” the elder Jackson told an E! News reporter. “His mother is on her way to the hospital now to check in on him.

“I am not sure what’s wrong. I am waiting to hear back.”

He is survived by three children; Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.
